The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering companies including new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed regarding the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a high variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This really is mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office devoted to service the area on a daily basis. The support place established for intervention experiences a higher influx of possible beneficiaries, which makes it challenging for your office to sassa attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA read more will mobilise far more assets to allow the servicing of all clients and boost access to Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
